The Razer Blackshark v2 Pro is one of the greatest wireless gaming headsets on the market, definitely worth its price. Sound quality and battery duration are the main features worth mentioning, even though they do have some little issues.
The THX Spatial Audio technology offers a more advanced experience, however, it comes at a cost.
Let’s see this set more in detail.
Technical specifications
The unique selling proposition of the Razer Blackshark v2 Pro consists in three main benefits:
- Positional audio;
- Failproof communication;
- Noise cancellation.
Basically, they’re the main features that you’d expect from a good headset optimized for competitive gaming.
Compared to the previous model, the drivers have been upgraded with a titanium coating on the diaphragms that makes the sound crisp and clear. You’ll notice the difference on the vocals. That’s the effect of the Triforce Titanium 50mm drivers.
Not only that, the Hyper Clear removable microphone completes the idea of failproof communication, but this headset is also comfortable to wear thanks to the FlowKnit memory foam pads.
As we mentioned, passive noise cancellation, the THX Spatial Audio technology and the high duration of the battery (up to 24 hours) complete the specifications.
Comfort gaming
Razer Blackshark v2 Pro are made for e-sports players, especially for PC gamers, as support for consoles isn’t really contemplated.
In order to improve the sound quality when gaming or watching movies, you can enable the THX Spatial Audio technology, but you need its specific software, priced at $19.99. Alternatively, you can purchase the $179.99 headset, which also includes the software. If price isn’t a big deal for you, we recommend it.
Moving while wearing the headset is also easy, as it stays firmly on your head, even if you tilt your head or dance. The FlowKnit pads make them comfortable to wear both for short and long gaming sessions and also cancel external noise effectively.
Although the battery lasts very long, there’s no way to know its percentage level of charge.
All we know is that the battery recharges in three hours, the LED turns red when it goes below 30% and if flashes when it hits the 10% mark. There’s an energy saving mode that automatically switches off after a number of minutes you can set.
Sound is always well-distributed, clear, balanced and doesn’t lag. The app Synapse makes equalization easy.
